Typography, Branding
The project explores typography and branding for the semi-fictional exhibition Studies by Shigeki Fujishiro. Studies showcases the artist's process works, using his models as tools to gain a third-person perspective. This method allows him to separate from his own mind and critique the designs as though they belong to someone else. The challenge was to capture these dynamics through typography and branding that reflect the exhibition.
Approach:
What stands out in Studies, beyond the parallel arrangement of its models, is the materiality that creates a sense of fragility and intersectionality. To reflect these themes, I selected Cirrus Cumulus by Velvetyne Type Foundry. This typeface mirrors the nets and vertices of the forms in the exhibition, capturing both the geometric structure and the rounded elements in Fujishiro’s work.
